The Pay Gap Insights Hub is now live:

The new Pay Gap Insights Hub now houses the refreshed Registry of organisations reporting their pay gaps. The Hub will be both the home of the updated Registry, as well as sharing tools and resources supporting employers to continue their efforts towards transparency and change.

The Pay Gap Insights Hub is available here.

MindTheGap has been campaigning to close pay gaps in Aotearoa.

In 49 years, the Equal Pay Act has not closed our pay gaps. For the first time, our country will have a Pay Gap Registry which will show whether or not a business has published its pay gaps.

Issues of fairness persist for genders, for Māori, for Pacific peoples, disability communities and other ethnicities in Aotearoa. The Registry aims to encourage all organisations to do the right thing by signing on and committing to pay gap reporting.

The Registry features our larger employers by name including the name of the Board Chair and CEO. It will show for the first time, which businesses are publishing their pay gaps for Gender, Maori and Pacific Peoples.

The graph shows the impact of pay gaps on men and women, broken down by ethnicity.

The MindTheGap campaign believes that to close our pay gaps, pay gap reporting is required here in Aotearoa just as it is in Australia, the UK and many other countries.

International evidence shows that when we know what the pay gaps are, we can get to work on closing them.We invite you to join us in saying KNOW your Pay Gaps and YES to reporting them.

As well as working with business leaders on voluntary reporting, we are also asking the Government to introduce pay gap reporting to end discrimination that impacts on the nation’s wellbeing: the aspirations of Māori, of Pasifika; marginalisation of other ethnic groups and child poverty. Follow our journey at @mindthegapnz.
